Dispatches from a used-car salesman and Vegas habitué

I’m Bob Waldman, aka “cascadia” on BaT. I’ve been selling collector cars online since 2001 and have learned a few lessons along the way.

Here on Substack I’ll be chronicling case studies from select cars I’ve handled and how they can represent the pitfalls you’ll find when both buying and selling.

I’ll also be posting my observations of the current online market as well as the land-based auctions that I attend. Monterey? Amelia? Nope. Las Vegas.

The hokey-pokey:

As a car dealer that only buys about two cars a month, there’s very little room for error. It’s actually a bit like gambling, which is probably why Vegas seems to pop up as a frequent destination for me.

The name of this blog is Risk. And that’s what it’s all about.

Join a crowd of ordinary experts, cautious gamblers, or anyone that is a devotee to the cult of petrol.
